What is EAT and GIVE?

 

EAT and GIVE is a trading name of Eat and Give Limited, a Social Enterprise.

Why should I order from EAT and GIVE?

 

We are a Social Enterprise and want to support communities. By ordering your takeaway through us, you will help us to support your local community in the fight against hunger, poverty, deprivation and homelessness.

Do I need to create an account to order from EAT and GIVE?

 

No, you can order your takeaway through us without creating an account. But there are benefits to having an account such as you get to see how much you have helped us to give through your normal orders for takeaway.

How does giving back to the community work?

 

We are a Social Enterprise and want to support our local communities by reducing hunger, poverty and homelessness. We want to do this by giving a percentage of our profit to local food banks and selected charities. This all starts with you! When you place an order for takeaway through our website or app we assign points to the value of your order based on how much you spend on your order. At the end of each year we assign a monetary value to your points after our expenditure and operational costs. We then tell you and the community how much you have helped us to give to food banks and selected charities. The information of how much points you gathered based on your orders through EAT and GIVE can be seen on your user account profile anytime. 

Who decides which charities and food banks to support

 

We decide which food banks and charities to support and charities are welcome to apply for support if their work directly support and combat homelessness and the needs of the poor and hungry.

Can I use Android phones to order?

 

You can use any Android enabled device that support a browser such as a tablet or mobile phone.

Which Android phones does your app support?

 

The EAT and GIVE app is compatible with phones running on Android 4.2 and higher.

Review Guidlines

Why should I leave a review?

 

We all know how helpful it can be to read reviews, when looking for assurance before paying our money for goods or a service. Leaving reviews about your experience whether pleasant or bad is good practice, because it will helps others when making decisions about a restaurant to provide that special meal, after all who wants to eat a naff meal? It also gives restaurants you order food from feed back about the services they are providing, which in turn will help them better serve you in the future. 

What is not an acceptable review?

 

If you write a review be considerate that others will read your comments. Please give thought to the language and manner you choose to express your views by not swearing or leaving derogatory, offensive or racist comments. Any such comments that breach the Terms and Conditions set out to use EAT and GIVE will be removed and appropriate action taken if necessary. 

What is an acceptable review?

 

The purpose of leaving a review is to assist other customers when choosing a restaurant to place an order for a particular meal or cuisine. At the same time providing helpful feedback to the restaurant, helping them provide a better service. The other purpose of a review is to encourage restaurants that are doing well and give them some praise for the service they already provide. Therefor a review should focus on the service received and the end product, the delivered meal. For example; were the staff you came in contact with polite and friendly? Did the meal arrive within reasonable time? Was it what you expected? Was it value for money? These are just some questionable points that can help another person make a decision which restaurant to choose. They key thing is that a review is just honest feedback.  


Orders

Can orders be placed to more than one restaurant at a time?

 

No, you can only place an order to one restaurant for each transaction.

Can I add special instructions with my order?

 

Yes you can add special instruction with your order during checkout. It is advisable to add a contact number to allow the restaurant to contact you if further clarification is needed to accept your order.

Can I pay for an order ahead of time?

 

Yes, you can place an order ahead of time and choose your preferred delivery time if its within the operational hours of the restaurant. This information you will need to check yourself on the restaurants menu page. You can also book a table and place an order ahead of time, pay for it so when you arrive at the restaurant your meal is prepared and you wait less time. Handy when time is of the essence.

Can I change my order after submitting?

 

If the restaurant has not accepted your order, you will need to contact the restaurant as soon as possible to amend your order before it is accepted. If the order is accepted and preparations have begun for your order, it is within the restaurants discretion to accept any amendments. 

Can I cancel my order and get a refund after its accepted by a restaurant?

 

If your order has been accepted and you wish to cancel, try to contact the restaurant as soon as possible, telling them you wish to cancel the order before any preparations for your order are started. However after you place an order and its accepted, it is within the restaurants discretion to accept a cancellation. 

What happens if my order is declined by a restaurant?

 

If your order is declined by a restaurant please bear in mind it maybe for a number of reasons such as ingredients needed to fulfill your order no longer available, staff shortage, or the restaurant is experiencing high volumes of demand and therefore cannot fulfill your order within reasonable time. In any case please select another restaurant and place your order. We would be grateful if you let us know of any such experience.

Can I cancel my order after submitting it?

 

If your order has not been accepted by the restaurant after you submitted it you will need to contact the restaurant as soon as possible to cancel your order before it is accepted. If the order is accepted and preparations have begun for your order it is within the restaurants discretion to accept a cancellation. 

I have a problem with an order where do I go?

 

We are sorry to hear that you are having problems with an order. Have you tried contacting the restaurant directly? Please contact us quoting your order number, giving us the details of the problems you are experiencing and we will do our best to help resolve the issue.

Can orders be placed by telephone?

 

Orders can be placed to participating restaurants by telephone.
